Media Director

The Media Director:

1. 1. Is responsible for creating a monthly newsletter highlighting key information from Ukraine, the Ukrainian Canadian community, and USOs; including
      • Consolidating information from the UCC’s monthly newsletters to summarize key events for students;
      • Other external key events in the Ukrainian and Ukrainian Canadian community;
      • Communication with Regional Directors to collect information and media on the activities and initiatives of regional USOs;
      • Introductions for the new Board of Directors;
   2. Is responsible for building and maintaining the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union social media presence; including
      • Preparing content for regular posts on all of the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union social media pages, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter;
   3. Is responsible for aiding the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union Board of Directors in maintaining communication with Member Organizations;
   4. Is responsible for the drafting of any press releases issued by the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union;
   5. Is responsible for building and maintaining the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union social media presence; including
      • Preparing content for regular posts on all of the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union social media pages, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter;
   6. Is responsible for maintaining and updating the social media schedule with relevant dates, captions, etc.

The Media Director for 2025-26: Mia Korotky

Mia Korotky is a second-year Biological Science student at the University of Guelph. Growing up in a Ukrainian community and staying closely connected to her culture through Plast and Ukrainian school has greatly influenced who she is today. These experiences sparked a passion in her for raising awareness—whether through fundraising initiatives or meaningful conversations. She enjoys learning through hands-on involvement in her community and is excited to see where her role with SUSK will take her. As SUSK’s Media Director, Mia looks forward to using her creativity and communication skills to help amplify SUSK’s voice and connect with students across the country. She’s eager to engage with others who are equally passionate and ready to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities: The Media Director leads SUSK’s communications strategy, using creativity to manage social media, create engaging content, and promote initiatives that connect students, amplify SUSK’s voice, and popularize Ukrainian culture across Canada.
